WHAT NOT TO BRING TO CAMP?

Do not bring iPods or MP3 players. We will not be responsible for them.

Do not bring large amounts of cash for the vending machines. We are not responsible for your valuables.

Do not bring broken sticks or broken equipment. Make sure you have your equipment in working order.

Do not bring high sugar carbonated drinks (i.e. soda) or any junk food snacks.

Do not bring a bad attitude or any bad habits or bad behavior.

CHECK-IN/ARRIVAL  AND PICK-UP

All campers should arrive at the rink with at least enough time to get dressed and be ready to go on at the schedule start time. On the first day of camp we recommend arriving 30-45 minutes early to take care of any requirements.

If some of the younger campers need help to tie their skates our counselors will do their best to get it done.

If necessary arrive a few minutes earlier so the counselors are not overloaded at the last minute.

We advise you to be at the rink when camp is scheduled to end. Please do not let your child wait unnecessarily.

MY CHILD HAS A SPECIFIC/SEVERE ALLERGY. WHAT DO I DO?

Please call / email us with the information and include these considerations on your enrollment form.

We will discuss the situation with you and help you in any way we can.

Please do not wait until the beginning of the camp week to inform us of any special needs or considerations.

Sometimes special situations require us to notify all the families in advance of another player's allergy. Please allow us enough time to do so.

DOES NAHS SUPPLY DRINKS, SNACKS OR LUNCH?

NO. We do have water on the benches during the camps but we do not supply drinks, snacks or lunches.

We suggest that you send ample amounts of the proper fluids and nutritious snacks and/or lunch.

Sodas and junk food are not recommended and should be avoided.

We STRONGLY recommend that you do not rely on the vending machines at the rinks.

WHAT EQUIPMENT IS REQUIRED?

All players should be completed outfitted for camp. You may see checklist for recommendations

NASH supplies only a camp jersey.

We recommend you double check your bag each day before camp!

All players are recommended to wear mouth guards. This is especially important for the camps involving contact drills.

WILL THE SNACK BAR OR PRO SHOP AT THE RINK BE OPEN?

We have no idea!

These areas are run by the rinks usually and we have no control over them.

We suggest you bring your own food and take care of any equipment requirements prior to camp.

WILL WE BE ABLE TO GET OUR SKATES SHARPENED?

Please see above question and answer.

We do not do this service and suggest you take care of this well in advance of camp.

WILL SOMEONE BE THERE TO TIE SKATES?

Yes there will be counselors and jr. counselors who will be on hand to assist any of the younger players with their skates and other equipment needs.

We strongly recommend that you encourage your older players to begin tying their own skates.

HOW DO I MAKE SURE MY HOCKEY PLAYER IS GROUPED WITH HIS FRIENDS?

When you first sign up and pay for camp please give us as much information as possible. We always do our best to accommodate our customers but sometimes age limitations or playing ability limit our ability to help due to the effect it would have on the overall group. Please take a moment to call us before registering if you have any concerns. We want to make sure your player's camp experience is the most fulfilling it can be.

When you check in on the first day of camp feel free to notify one of the N.A.H.S. consolers and they will do their best to make sure your player is in the group with his friends.

If the camp has a scrimmage on the final day (i.e. Glenn Anderson Stanley Cup Week) teams are drafted by the counselors in the hope that teams will be fair. Every attempt will be made to keep friends together but in some cases that may not be possible.

IS IT POSSIBLE TO ATTEND JUST A FEW DAYS OF CAMP?

We strongly recommend that your player attends the entire week session.

The camps are designed to build upon each day’s curriculum.

However, we will pro-rate the Tune-Up Camps at Terry Conners and Ridgefield the week of August 23-27.

We understand that some school districts start during that week and take that into account wherever that applies.

We will ONLY apply a discount if you inform us when signing up; no refunds will be offered.

MY CHILD IS GOING INTO TO BE A PEE WEE IN THE FALL, DO YOU TEACH THEM CHECKING?

All camps “11 and Older” will review body contact and most importantly how to receive a hit properly.

NOTE: Camps involving full checking are marked with an * on the schedule pages

MY CHILD IS A BANTAM AGE PLAYER...

SHOULD HE/SHE BE ON THE ICE WITH MITES FOR THE 8 & OLDER CAMPS?

For the “8 & Older” camps at NAHS we break the camp up into small groups based on age, size and abilities.

We try to keep players together who will challenge each other in the drills.

A mite will never compete against a bantam player in the camps.
